Walt Wilkins and Shake Russell
with
Brian Langlinais
November 25, 2007
Driving down to The White Elephant, early evening... it was getting dark outside and the freezing cold rain made me want to turn around and head back home - back to the warmth of my comfy couch - but something told me this was going to be a Clubhouse show for the history books and am I ever glad I didn't let the rain keep me at home.
Obviously, Walt Wilkins is a Clubhouse favorite from waaaay back. I had heard alot about Shake Russell, but had never HEARD him play. Needless to say - I can't wait to have him play again. He was great!
We are very lucky to have so many "legends" grace our stage. Shake Russell is definitely a legend.
The fans started coming in long before Brian Langlinais started his opening set.
Throughout the evening, people were coming up to me and THANKING me for booking Shake.
Apparently he doesn't get up this way too often, but we're planning to change that!
Brian is a native of Louisiana, living in Nashville.
His music is anything but "country". It's soulful and bluesy.

He and his wife were in Texas visiting relatives for Thanksgiving and celebrating their 16th wedding anniversary.
Congrats Brian & Natalie!
Brian got up with Walt and Shake and the three of them did the Walter Hyatt song, "Last Call".

Thanks, Steve, for being there. Originally he was scheduled to tape Tina Wilkins' show in Austin, but the weather and holiday traffic made him come to our show instead...
lucky us!!!
Sorry, Tina!
Thanks to everyone that came out for the show.
You were the perfect "listening" crowd!
