Super Bowl Sunday at The White Elephant Saloon....
The day started off rainy and cool. By the time we got there and unloaded everything, it had turned into a really nice day.
John Crocker was first up. It was the first time he had played at The White Elephant and he put on a great set. He brought his guitar player, Richard Pae, with him.
It was the first time Luke Olson had played at a Clubhouse show, also, but definitely won't be the last! Luke and Peter played lots of new stuff as well as requests from the audience - except for the guy that kept requesting "Pop A Top" by Alan Jackson. He just didn't seem to understand that they were there to sing their own songs... even after Peter said, "I don't know that one, but I'll play you one I wrote" ... Peter proceeded to play "Willie Nelson For President" and even included the third verse he doesn't usually play (per Allene's request!).
We had a small crowd, but everyone enjoyed themselves.. We're looking forward to having these guys back soon! |
