|Sam Baker and Gurf Morlix
June 3rd, 2007
|Tonight was another very special Clubhouse show. Sam Baker has become a favorite of Clubhouse fans. Although tonight was originally scheduled as a CD release party for his new CD "Pretty World", as it always seems to turn out - the CD is not quite ready. Anyway, Sam played lots of songs from it, and everyone can't wait until August, when it goes on sale. Sam brought his good friend, producer/songwriter Gurf Morlix. It was the first time for Gurf at the Clubhouse but he will definitely be back again. He was awesome!!! He, also, has a new CD out, and we got to hear alot of songs from it.
He is also an incredible guitar player and he played "lead" on alot of Sam's songs, as well as beautiful harmonies.
|Another good friend of the Clubhouse, Keith Davis, opened the show. Keith, also, has a brand new CD ( almost ready for release ) and he treated everyone to his new songs. He has a new single " Make It Up To You" that is getting alot of airplay on The Ranch. It's a great song!|
|Jason Eady and his beautiful wife were in the audience as "fans" tonight. Sam and Gurf invited Jason up on stage and he treated us to two songs. He ALSO has a new CD coming out, with his band The Wayward Apostles.|
|Sam asked Jason to stay on stage "for one more song", which he dedicated to our friend Buck Jones.
Sam, Jason, Gurf and the entire audience sang along to "Truale".
Tonight was a bittersweet night, as it was the last night of Jack's restaurant to be open.
Sam & Gurf dedicated the last two songs to Jack and his staff - "Goodnight Irene" and "The Last Time".
We're gonna miss everyone at Jack's and wish them the best!
|Thanks for making your Sunday evenings a part of the Clubhouse Concerts Acoustic Series.
