You can usually guage the size of an upcoming show by the number of phone calls, emails and my space messages we recieve during the week before the show. This was definitely true for tonight's show. My first phone call was the previous Monday morning, requesting to buy tickets before the show (which we don't do) and throughout the week I continued to get phone calls and emails. It was the first time Deryl Dodd has played a Clubhouse show, but most certainly not the last! The crowd loved him and Susan. After the show, many of the fans hung around and visited with them for quite a while.
<--------------- 23 year old, Ben Danaher - from Austin- was tonight's opener. Ben sang original songs and it is obvious he has a career in music ahead of him. He comes from a musical family - his brother, Brett, is Pat Green's lead guitar player!
Although we had a crowd of 100+ , the room was relatively quiet. In such a small room, it is really hard to keep everyone from talking during the music, but we try. We know how much it means to the musicians - as well as the die hard fans.
Both Susan and Deryl seemed to enjoy themselves! It's always more fun when the musicians on stage are having a good time!
The new Mrs. Max Stalling (Heather Woodruff from blacktTop gypsy) visiting with Susan
Max Stalling came over after his show at Billy Bob's to support Deryl and Susan.
Our bartender, Kaitlyn, stayed busy tonight!
Thanks to Susan, Deryl & Ben for a great night of music!! Thanks, also, to Susan for "signing up" to play at the benefit on January 27th! We can't wait to see you there! joni, emily & rachel
