Once again, we were blown away by the "impossibly talented" Rodney Branigan.
As I am posting these pictures, I am listening to the recording from the show and just cannot believe how talented he is.
Of course, the fact that he can play (and I mean really PLAY) two guitars (with a tambourine attached to his foot) is incredible, he is just as talented when playing only one guitar. The audience was mesmerized, in fact, they made him play an encore. No one seemed to care if they were missing a Cowboy game!
Rodney not only plays guitar, but he turns his guitar into a percussion instrument - pounding on it like a drum. He is amazing!
He is also really funny!
The first song - played on two guitars is appropriately  titled "Schizophrenia"!
Rodney is a native of Amarillo, but has been living and playing in England. He is making a quick run through the southwest U.S. before moving to India. We are very lucky he made a stop at the Clubhouse.
Fort Worth singer/songwriter Jeremy Martin opened for Rodney.
Jeremy has a brand new CD - titled "How It Should Be", which should hit the record stores in October or November.
Jeremy's good friend Randy Langley sat in with him. Jeremy made the joke that he, too, plays with two guitars - only Randy was playing one of them!
Jeremy's identical twin brother, Josh, got up and played harmonica on a couple of the songs.
It was a great opening set.

Rodney brought copies of his "live" album, plus a DVD recorded in the Naila Bagh Palace, Jaipur, India.

From the looks of it, I think just about everyone bought either a CD or the DVD - many people bought both - and Rodney autographed copies while posing for a few shots with his fans.

It was a GREAT show and we can't wait for Rodney to come back to the US and play for us again - we're hoping maybe in March of '09.

By the way, if you are in the Austin, Texas area this coming Sunday (the 28th), Rodney will be playing at Tina Mitchell Wilkins' Sunday show at The Crossings.

We want to thank Rodney for making the Clubhouse Concerts Acoustic Series a part of his U.S. tour and wish him luck with his travels to India.
We can't wait to have him back!
Thanks, also, to Jeremy Martin. Good luck with the new CD.
