While everyone was filling their plates with tasty fried chicken, potato salad, coleslaw and brownies, Dusty Deaton entertained the crowd with a great 45 minute opening set.
The White Elephant began filling up early and it was obvious that there were alot of people there that don't normally attend Clubhouse Concerts shows, by all of the loud talking during the music.
WARNING!!! RANT AHEAD!!!
IF YOU HAVE EVER ATTENDED A SHOW AT THE CLUBHOUSE CONCERTS ACOUSTIC SERIES... WHETHER IT WAS IN THE BEGINNING (AT THE APARTMENT COMPLEX), AT OUR PREVIOUS VENUE - THE HORSEMAN CLUB, OR AT THE WHITE ELEPHANT, YOU HAVE BEEN MADE AWARE THAT THE SHOWS ARE BILLED AS LISTENING SHOWS AND "OUT OF RESPECT TO THE MUSICIANS ON STAGE AND THE FANS IN THE AUDIENCE", WE ASK THAT YOU PLEASE KEEP TALKING TO A MINIMUM DURING THE MUSIC.
WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED LAST NIGHT????
WE HAD SOME OF THE RUDEST, LOUD TALKING PEOPLE AT THE SHOW THAN WE HAVE EVER HAD. WE HAD PEOPLE CLIMBING ON THE STAGE, TAKING THE MICROPHONE OUT OF AARON'S SPACE AND TRYING TO SING ALONG (WHEN NOT ASKED TO), CLIMBING ON OUR FURNITURE LIKE THEY WERE AT A FRAT PARTY, KNOCKING OVER "SPIT CUPS" ON THE FLOOR FOR OTHERS TO CLEAN UP AFTER THEM... I COULD GO ON FOREVER. THE POINT I AM TRYING TO MAKE IS... IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO RESPECT THE MUSICIANS AND YOU CHOOSE TO BE DISRUPTIVE DURING THE MUSIC, YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE.
THE WHITE ELEPHANT IS A "21 AND UP" ESTABLISHMENT, AND YOU ARE EXPECTED TO ACT LIKE ADULTS. IF YOU CAN'T RESPECT OTHERS AROUND YOU, AND THE GIRLS (AND GUYS) THAT SPEND OUR SUNDAY NIGHTS TRYING TO BRING THESE AWESOME MUSICIANS TO THE FANS, YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE. BETTER YET... IF YOU PREFER GOING TO A BAR TO "SOCIALIZE", WHY PAY THE $10 COVER IN THE FIRST PLACE? IT WOULD SAVE US THE TROUBLE OF ASKING YOU TO LEAVE.
WE ALSO UNDERSTAND THAT NOT ALL OF OUR SHOWS WILL BE AS "LISTENER FRIENDLY" AS OTHERS (EXAMPLE: RANDY'S BIRTHDAY, OUR ANNIVERSARY SHOWS, OUR CHRISTMAS SHOWS ... THOSE ARE PARTIES AND WE EXPECT EVERYONE TO COME TO PARTY), JUST PLEASE SHOW RESPECT TO THESE GUYS THAT GET UP THERE WEEK AFTER WEEK POURING THEIR HEARTS AND SOULS OUT TO YOU.
We would, however, like to thank the fans that were respectful to Aaron & Dusty and want you to know that we will try everything in our power to keep our shows "listener friendly".

We would also like to thank Aaron & Dusty (and Aaron's guitar player) for putting on a great show.

We hope that everyone has as much fun and enjoys these shows as much as we do. There are not many venues (if any other venues) in this area that cater to the "listening atmosphere" and we feel like everyone appreciates it... both the musicians and the fans.
We will strive to keep our shows listener friendly!
