This was a great show! The Mike McClure Band played lots of new songs (including all 4 songs from the new "el EP" that went on sale that night). They also did lots of great covers, including "Into The Mystic", "Brown Sugar" and "Rockin' in the Free World". Jason Boland & The Stragglers had a great set, also. They had a "guest" steel guitar player and the keyboard player from George Strait's band playing with them also. Jeremy's fiance', Amanda, got up and sang a song with Mike, and then Jeremy and Amanda sang backup vocals on Mexico or Crazy with Jason. The highlight of the evening for me was when Jason invited some of his musician friends up on stage to sing "For What It's Worth" (the old Buffalo Springfield song), and Ryan Bingham joined Tommy Alverson & Andy Pate. It was great to see Ryan performing on the Billy Bob's stage!! ~ Joni ~ |
