held at Midnight Rodeo in Austin, Texas
1/25/04
The 2004 Gruene With Envy awards show started off at the early hour of 2pm. Robert Henry, Drew Cowan and Mark Sanders were the first "group" of singer songwriters, getting the show off to a great start. We were there when the doors opened, and luckily, we were able to grab some chairs and sit right in the front of the stage. We were so close to the musicians, sometimes we had to back up a little, just to get a good picture.

How did we miss getting a picture of Owen Temple??
Mark Sanders' girlfriend, Drema, was selling GWE t-shirts. I was contemplating buying one, when she said "You just have to get one...it has "all your guys' names on the back"...so I bought one!! Great sales pitch, Drema!! How could I resist!
<~~
Next up, were Aaron Watson, Owen Temple & Peter Dawson. Dub Miller was also scheduled to appear in this group, but wasn't there.

Micky and the Motorcars put on a great 45 minute set!
check out the tamborine on his foot!
Doug Moreland sang and toasted the musicians and the audience
After Micky and The Motorcars, Matt Powell, Brandon Jenkins, Fallon Franklin and Blake Powers played. Matt is quickly becoming one of my favorites (both on stage and off!). Brandon Jenkins was really good (especially when he played his song "Feet Don't Touch The Ground"). We were also doing a little "Clubhouse work" at the show...we got Brandon booked for 2 shows...he's coming with Stoney in May!!
